Super windy this week. Tree down covering trail at Malvern so we went the other direction. Lots of twigs and branches down that way too. Ride with caution.
This trail is in walking distance of my house so I have taken my bikes on it many times. Trail runs next to Line Creek most of the time. Scenic and a peaceful ride. Most of the time the path is wide enough for two way traffic.
Very nice trail that I rode a few miles on after connecting from the Line Creek Trail. I like the trail but the highway roar was too annoying for me. I did not complete it because of this. Great trail but too noisy. Traveling cyclist Facebook
I want to give this trail more than five stars! A lot of it is curvy and hilly through woods and along water. I can’t think of anything this trail lacks. I started at the trailhead at Waukomis Drive and road north, then turned back and rode south to the casino and back. This first couple hills got me a bit winded and it seemed it was mainly uphill going north. I rode on a Saturday morning threatening rain, I saw a lot of walkers but few cyclists. Shenandoah to Malvern. We rode in significant wind (35 mph gusts). We could feel it in the openings and braced for it, but protected by the trees otherwise. Lots of twigs down and one tree down. Had to be mindful of what you were riding over. Surface otherwise was really nice. We were the only riders on the trail in April.
We enjoyed our first ride on this trail. Not a lot of people and went through pretty scenery. We went on the south route from the trailhead which was a slight climb and then north by road and found trail coming back though this app doesn’t show the connection. The north route is fairly hilly.
Camped in our motorhome at Boehner Park, campground in Malvern. Only 100 yards from the campground to the trail. Day number one we rode north from Malverne to Silver city. 16 miles round-trip. Day number two, we rode Malverne to Shenandoah. 48 miles round-trip. Majority of the sections we rode were tree covered. Great for the shade, but the trail was soft and rotted, as it had rained two days earlier.
This trail is a great example of what a group of volunteers can do. If you go to use this trail please support the trail by buying a pass or making a donation. The trail is not supported or maintained by a government entity or tax dollars.
Most of the trail is in very good condition. You may find some of the southern portions not as well traveled but still easily passable.
Love the trail But there are alot of bikers then walkers. The bikers tend to ride by you really fast so stay alert and listen to your surroundings. Wish they had there own lane.
Rode from the south at the Argosy casino to the Costco on 152 highway. Very nice. Riverside area was a bit sketchy but not that bad.
10’ new concrete from downtown Runs along river. I ran out of time before I ran out of trail Was supposed to pick back up down road. We’ll done on the part I rode
